Purpose-built garden
Our purpose-built garden is the home to native plants and a wonderful array of vegetables. In addition to learning about different shapes and colours of vegetables, our tamariki learn about the seasons, weather and the affects these elements have on the plant’s growth.
Cultivated vegetables
Our children are so proud of the vegetables they have grown and are especially excited eating what they have cultivated. From seedlings, to garden, to kitchen, to table.
Valuable learning experience
A hands-on experience teaches our tamariki about where food comes from, how to grow it sustainably and how to look after living plants. Feeling the texture of the soil, seeds and plants makes this a valuable learning experience.
Environment awareness
‘He wā pai ki te mahi māra’… 'It’s a great time of the year to be in the garden.’ Kiddywinkles celebrates and encourages sustainability and awareness of our environment. The joy is clearly evident on the faces of our budding young gardeners.
